About PMBC

A Reformed Baptist Church
in Douglasville

The first question of the Westminster Shorter Catechism asks, “What is the chief end of man?” The answer sets the direction of the Christian life: “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.” That answer sets the direction of Pray’s Mill too. Every other purpose we name — worship, discipleship, mission, fellowship — is a means to this one great end.

Who We Are

A confessional Reformed Baptist congregation.

Pray’s Mill Baptist Church is a Reformed Baptist congregation in Douglasville, Georgia. We hold to the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689 and gather each Lord’s Day to do simple, weighty things — to read God’s Word, sing God’s Word, pray God’s Word, hear God’s Word preached, and remember Christ at his Table. Our worship is ancient and reverent: nothing fancy, nothing trendy, nothing that has not been done by God’s people for two thousand years.

How We Worship

A covenant-renewing dialogue with God.

We believe worship is not something we work up; it is something God calls us to. Each Lord’s Day he summons his people, washes them in the gospel, speaks to them through the Word, welcomes them at his Table, and sends them back into the world with his blessing. The shape of our service follows that conversation — God calls, we respond; God speaks, we listen; God forgives, we praise; God invites, we draw near. Read more about how we worship →

How We Live

A family of families, gathered as one body.

We are a family of families. Children worship beside their parents. Members bear one another’s burdens. A plurality of elders shepherds the flock, and deacons serve the body’s practical needs. We catechize at home and in the assembly through our teaching ministries. We support faithful missionaries near and far. We are ordinary people in covenant together, weekly renewing our vows to Christ and his Bride.
