Tithes & Offerings
Giving at Pray's Mill
The Christian gives not to earn favor with God, but because favor has been freely given. We were not redeemed with silver and gold but with the precious blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18–19) — and out of that great gift the church gives back, gladly and proportionally, of the money the Lord has entrusted to her. Giving is one of the ordinary marks of a healthy congregation.
Why We Give
Joyful, regular, proportional.
The New Testament pattern of giving is straightforward. It is joyful: “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7). It is regular: “On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside” (1 Cor. 16:2). And it is proportional: “as he may prosper” (1 Cor. 16:2). Believers are not commanded to a flat percentage in the new covenant, but to a heart and a hand open in proportion to what God has given.
Your tithes and offerings support the preaching of the Word at Pray’s Mill, the salaries of our pastors and ministry staff, the missionaries we partner with, the upkeep of the building God has given us, and the care of members and neighbors in need.
How to Give
Three ways.
- In person — offering plates are passed during the morning service.
- By mail — checks payable to Pray’s Mill Baptist Church, 4979 Highway 5, Douglasville, GA 30135.
- Online — via our secure giving portal, linked below.
If you are a visitor, please do not feel any pressure to give. The offering is for the members and friends of this church to fulfill the duties of their own covenant with one another. We are glad to have you with us all the same.
